This is something I wrote after last year's loss.
It was pain. Mindless, senseless pain and he screamed, throwing away his shoes and not caring if they tumbled off the balcony. He couldn't think, couldn't breathe, couldn't see. He just hurt. He only wanted it to stop. To forget. Please let him forget.

Justin finds him, curled up in a corner of the bedroom. Nick leans in to him when he sits down next to him and cries, wordlessly, soundlessly. Just tears that Justin can feel soaking in to his skin and he has no words. No words to make this better because he's hurting too and if he could he'd take Nick's pain on to himself. But he can't and Nick is falling apart in his arms and all he can do is try to hold him together with his hands, and his lips and his heart.

Justin watches Nick. Mask back in place. He winces every time Nick tries to smile. He wonders how long it would be before he'd see happiness in Nick's smile again. He stays by Nick's side and tries to hold him together when things get too hard. He just wants to go home. Just wants it to be the two of them. Away from everything where they can fall apart and maybe rebuild each other. But Nick has to be here and Justin would follow him to the ends of the earth.

Congratulations to Lenny for winning the St Kilda best and fairest last night. Very deserving winner :D BJ and Dal were also in the top 5. Loved what BJ said about winning a grand final or die trying. Love him and his spirit!
