Sunshine

A small part from my long fic titled 'Beginnings and Ends'


'I've just got a headache' Brett said getting up from the couch and moving to the window.
'Have you taken anything?' Cooper's voice sounded a tad worried over the phone.
'yeah. I took a couple of panadol' Brett said watching the streets below.

'good...i'll be there soon Ok?'
'Coop?'
'Yeah?'
'you driven'?'
'yeah'
'get off the phone!'
Brett heard Cooper laugh. With that, Cooper switched off.
Brett sat on the carpet and watched the cars go by. He was waiting and searching for Cooper's car. Which he now knew was coming over. Within 15 minutes he was here. Cooper parked his car next to Brett's blue one. Brett waved when Cooper looked up. Cooper waved back smiling.
Brett let him in. He greeted Cooper with a hug, while Cooper kissed him on the cheek.
He was about to kiss him on the lips when Brett back out.
'You might catch what ever i've got' Brett explained.
'Don't care' Cooper said pulling Brett towards him.
'Thought so' Brett said smiling. Cooper's lips lingered on Brett's lips.
'Hows your head?' he asked.
'Now that you are...' Brett took Cooper's lips with his. '...here. It's a diffrent story'

Cooper sat down on the carpet with his back to the wall and signalled Brett to join him. Brett was about to lean against the wall when Cooper pulled Brett onto his lap. Brett rested his head on Cooper's lap, his eyes facing up, holding the green of Cooper's.
Brett smiled as Cooper ran his fingers through his hair.
'you have beautiful eyes' Cooper said, not taking his eyes off them.
'Thanks'
'So fucking blue'
Brett smiled not knowing what to say.
He gathered Cooper's left hand in his and placed them across his lips. He kissed them slowly.
They sat without words for a while. Cooper's soothing touch almost made Brett close his eyes. It made him want to fall asleep by Cooper's side. Brett stared at Cooper through his half open eye lids.
He could tell Cooper was taking him in. He didn't want Cooper to wander off. He didn't want to let Cooper be alone with his thoughts.
'you are my sunshine...' Brett began tightening his hold on Cooper's fingers.
'my only sunshine... Coops..You make me happy' Cooper was laughing. Brett was happy.
'When skies are grey. You'll never know dear. How much i love you'
'So please Coops kiss me before i fall asleep' Brett adjusted the ending. Cooper laughed out loud.
'That doesn't rhyme Finch'
Brett smiled. 'Well, Rhyming wasn't my fortay back in school'
'I can see that' Cooper said as he finally stopped laughing.
'well?' Brett said smiling.
Cooper leaned down as Brett leaned up. Cooper placed a hand underneath Brett's head to hold him.
Cooper's lips touched Brett's.

So please don't take my sunshine away...
