"Hey, JT."
"Cam."
"You alright?"
"What do you think?"
"What are you doing tonight?"
JT smiles against his will.
"Why?"
"I was thinking if your boys aren't doing anything tonight, you might wanna come over to the hotel. We've got the hotel bar booked."
"Yeah?"
"Yep. Thought you might want to catch up with Billy."
"Nothing to do with Dallas?"
Cam looks over at Dallas, talking to Billy and Cooper.
"Always something to do with Dallas, mate."
---
The revelry is well under way when the Cowboys arrive at the bar. There is so much noise being made by the Storm boys on top of the music blasting over the speakers.
Johnathan, coming in after all his boys, smiles to himself as Dallas makes it straight for Cam. And raises an eyebrow as Tate does the same.
The rest of the boys head for the bar and the Storm boys have to shout their greetings over the noise.
Billy makes his way to him, a small smile on his face.
"Drink?" Billy holds out one of the two drinks in his hands. They are pink.
"Before you ask, I didn't order these," Billy adds, seeing his hesitation.
Johnathan takes one glass and sips. It burns as it goes down. He downs it all in one go. He needs it after tonight.
Billy's looking at him with concerned eyes.
"Jay?"
"Sorry, just-" he wipes at his mouth with his free hand.
Billy takes his hand. "Come on," and guides him to one of the leather booths. He drops on to the couch and Billy sits down next to him. He can see Cam, a few booths over, Dallas and Tate sitting either side of him. They look happy. Billy leans over and kisses him on the cheek. His hand flies to his cheek in surprise.
"What was that for?" he asks.
Billy shrugs and smiles.
Johnathan grins.
"There," Billy says eyes fixed on his face.
"What?"
Billy reaches up a hand to touch his hair.
"You're smiling."
Johnathan holds Billy's dark eyes. He's happy. With Billy he's always happy.
He threads his fingers with Billy's in his hair and pulls his hand down to his lips.
"Can I stay?" he asks, knowing very well Billy's answer. He tries not to wait for the day when that answer will be different.
Billy kisses him.
---
Billy leans his head against the cool window of the plane and looks down at the earth moving below. He'd woken up early and spent an hour watching Johnathan sleep. He'd stayed so long he almost missed the team bus leaving for the airport. Johnathan had watched with sleepy eyes as he rushed around the room, collecting clothes and things strewn around the room, occasionally pausing to kiss Johnathan who would always try to pull him back to bed. He smiles at the memory. He isn't sure when they would get to see each other again. So he always tries to imprint everything in his mind, to last until the next time.
"Must have had a good night," says a voice and Billy looks up to find Cooper grinning at him.
He runs a hand through his hair with a grin.
"What makes you say that?" he asks.
Cooper raises as eyebrow. "If that goofy smile on your face is any indication," he says as Billy blushes red.
Cooper laughs. "God! What am I going to do with you?"
Billy grins. "Come on! I'm not as bad as Cam," and they both look behind them where Cam is sprawled asleep across three seats.
Cooper looks back at him with a smile. "Maybe. I'm going to go and talk to Gareth over there, he looks sort of lonely."
"And I don't?" Billy asks, feigning hurt.
Cooper grins. "You're too lost in your head with your boyfriend, Bills."
Billy goes pink again and Cooper ruffles his hair fondly and heads down the aisle for Gareth.
Billy leans his head against the window again and closes his eyes. If he falls asleep, he knows exactly who will be there in his dreams.
The end.
